If you are an English speaking person then it\u2019s easy for you. But as for the rest of us, it&#8217;s not so easy question. <a href=\"http:\/\/www.etymonline.com\/index.php?term=alp\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">The roots of \u201cthe Alps\u201d<\/a> stretches back into the 1590s and the first widely used phrase to describe any high mountain was \u201calp\u201d. It literally means any high, snow-capped mountain.<\/p>\n<h4 style=\"text-align: justify;\"><strong>Highest mountain <\/strong><\/h4>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">You probably already know this, but hey \u2013 it would be just wrong not to mention the highest mountain of Western Europe and the Alps in this article, right? So here it is \u2013 the mighty Mont Blanc! It is 4810 meters high and is located on the border of France and Italy. Mont Blanc means \u201cWhite Mountain\u201d because of its perpetual snowfields and glaciers. If you want a real challenge, <a href=\"https:\/\/www.alps2alps.com\/blog\/heli-skiing-enjoy-mountains-before\/\">why not give Helisking a go<\/a>. Just remember, it&#8217;s not allowed in France.
