For any winter sports lover, the Winter Olympics is an event to get truly excited about.<\/p>\n

We\u2019ve almost been counting down the days! Four years is far too long to wait, and the suspense can be tough. But, it\u2019s almost here!<\/p>\n

This year, the Winter Olympics will take place from 9th to 25th February 2018 in Pyeongchang County, South Korea.<\/p>\n

To help commemorate the biggest occasion in the winter sports calendar, here\u2019s our Winter Olympics 2018<\/strong> Preview<\/strong>.<\/p>\n

Why We\u2019re Excited About the Winter Olympics 2018<\/h2>\n

Where to start? From inspiring athletes to jaw-dropping achievements, the Winter Olympics is full of thrills all the way to the finish line.<\/p>\n

But, we\u2019ll try to put together the things we\u2019re looking forward to the most.<\/p>\n

Feeling Patriotic<\/h3>\n

There\u2019s nothing wrong with a little healthy patriotism \u2013 being proud of your team is a great feeling.<\/p>\n

You\u2019ve got to support your own, right? The Winter Olympics only rolls around every four years, and we can\u2019t wait to experience the patriotism it brings with it once again.<\/p>\n

Saying this, we\u2019re all about supporting the sport too. There are some really exciting athletes making their way through the ranks of all nations!<\/p>\n

Seeing Something Different<\/h3>\n

What we love about the Winter Olympics is seeing some less well-known sports on our screens.<\/p>\n

We\u2019re not tearing down other sports! But, no one can deny that seeing something new adds some extra excitement<\/a>.<\/p>\n

Fancy seeing a bit of speedskating? Big air snowboarding? Or, is Alpine skiing the event for you? You\u2019ll find all of them (and more) at the Winter Olympics.<\/p>\n

The Mascot<\/h3>\n

We always look forward to meeting the new mascot.<\/p>\n

This year, the mascot is a white tiger named Soohorang!<\/a> As well as being adorable, the mascot\u2019s associations with Korean culture and mythology are an added bonus.<\/p>\n

Sometimes, Olympic mascots can be disappointing. But, Soohorang has started this year off on the right foot. We\u2019re hoping this is a sign for a good Winter Olympics!<\/p>\n

Seeing Our Passion<\/h3>\n

If you\u2019re anything like us (and we\u2019re guessing you are) you\u2019re passionate about winter sports.<\/p>\n

So, seeing something you love on the TV is a hugely proud moment.<\/p>\n

After watching the Winter Olympics, we feel like grabbing our gear and heading to the slopes straight away.<\/p>\n

The Winter Olympics is the one time where skiers and snowboarders forget their rivalry<\/a> and bond over a love of winter sports. This truce doesn\u2019t last long, though.<\/p>\n

But, the Winter Olympics provides a white flag in this great debate. It\u2019s powerful enough to unite all winter sports lovers alike!<\/p>\n

Breakout Stars<\/h3>\n

Who doesn\u2019t love an underdog?<\/p>\n

It\u2019s amazing to see a previously unknown athlete get launched into the stratosphere of fame due to one great performance.<\/p>\n

You can quite literally watch someone\u2019s life transform!<\/p>\n

Plus, watching breakout stars always inspires us to improve our technique. We\u2019ll never be Olympic-standard, but it won\u2019t stop us trying.<\/p>\n

If you\u2019re trying to get your kids into winter sports<\/a>, share your Olympic excitement with them. You never know, they could be the next breakout star!<\/p>\n
