Courmayeur skiing: an overview

Mont Blanc brings many ski lovers to Courmayeur ski resort. 51 slopes are available and adapted to different ski difficulty levels. For the beginners, 11 blue runs are marked and available. For the more advanced skiers, the 17 red runs are ideal. Lastly, for the expert skiers who know what they’re doing, 5 black slopes are available. 18 lifts are spread through the skiing area to help you reach the highest points.

Non-skiing activities in Courmayeur

A popular snow-based activity away from the slopes is heliski. Here, you will have the opportunity to have panoramic views only accessible by booking a Heli flight. Ski instructors will be there to guide you at all times. The highlight of this flight is Mont Fortin, a mountain in the Graian Alps. Another fascinating activity is Sleddog, where 30 huskies await your lead. There is a kind of theory test before you’re able to sled.

Things to do in Courmayeur village

If you’re visiting Courmayeur ski resort, ensure you find the time to visit the town. Some of the worthwhile things to do in Courmayeur village are to visit the Alpine Guides Society. This 150-year-old museum will teach you everything there is to learn about the Alps and Mont Blanc. Another place to go in the village is the Santuario di Notre-Dame de Guerison, an historical symbol and one of the first churches around.

Our last suggestion is the Fenis Castle, an Italian castle from circa 1250. All the suggestions here are enough for you to get a broad knowledge of Courmayeur village history.

Family-friendly and kids’ fun in Courmayeur

Courmayeur is the ideal ski resort for families. The Italian resort is small in comparison to others, making it easy to explore the surroundings with the kids. Courmayeur après-ski

Generally, after spending a long day on the slopes, you should unwind at one of the numerous apres-ski options in Courmayeur. Courmayeur may be small, but the party and fun are lively. La Bouche is our first option. Ideal if you feel like having a cocktail by the firepit outdoors. The Club Courmayeur is the place to go if you want to show your dance moves to the DJs music. The Bar Carlo is a more local bar, yet electric with music every night. Other Apres-ski options are La Buvette Courmayeur and Shatush Club Montblanc.

Courmayeur is full of restaurant options, from pizzerias to the most fancy ones. Let’s get into some names. Mont Frety is a RistoPub offering a relaxed environment, and it’s ideal to grab a pizza. La Maison de Filippo is another option serving Italian cuisine for lunch, dinner, and after-hours. They also have a vegetarian-friendly menu.

La Padella, meaning frying pan, is a Mediterranean restaurant with prices ranging from £13.00 to £25.00 per person. Ideal to grab a traditional Italian pizza. Lastly, our last suggestion is the Shatush Bistro & Brasserie. It’s Italian and contemporary cuisine, and it has a rooftop where you can enjoy your meal for £21.00–£51.00 per person.

Courmayeur summer activities

The summer season goes from June to September, and many activities are waiting for you. We start by suggesting the Piscina Alpina, a pool in the middle of the Alps. A pure bliss. The water temperature is between 27 and 30 degrees. You can reach it from the Dolonne cabin lift. Next, we have the bike park; two treadmills are available and cater to different difficulty levels. Lastly, you can’t miss the Skyway Monte Bianco, where you get to reach the highest peaks in the area.
