Get to know Sölden Ski Resort

Are you a fan of James Bond? If so, you’re in for a treat. At Solden ski resort, you can experience the “007 ELEMENTS.” A 1,300 m2 underground exhibit with interactive displays and great views of the Otztal mountains.

Other activities like snowshoeing, winter walks, ice skating, and hikes are also available. The resort also welcomes families. Ski and snowboard schools are open for children from three years old and adults. After the first lessons, adults can begin taking lifts and turns. There is also a kindergarten if parents want some alone time.

Sölden skiing: an overview

Solden is equipped with 31 lifts to take you to 144 kilometres of slopes with mountains higher than 3000 m2. Plus, the two mountain glaciers—Rettenbach and Tiefenbach, which are accessible from September. The ski resort is well-known for the variety of activities available to its tourists, including some exciting challenges. One of these is “The SCHWARZE SCHNEID,” meaning “black cut,” which is ideal for the more advanced skiers, and it’s the longest slope in all of Austria. You can reach it by using the Gaislachkogl and Giggijoch gondola lifts.

Non-skiing activities in Sölden

Tobogganing is a very popular non-ski activity among visitors. It runs from the Gaislachkogl Gondola lift, and it’s adaptable for children. The run is illuminated in the evening, making it a magical experience. You can buy the tickets directly at the cash desks.

Sölden has a good reputation when it comes to parties. The village is small, but the parties are big at the livid bars. The umbrella bar Sonne is a charismatic pub with a DJ included. The Giggi Tenn is a rustic bar and a good après-ski option. It’s also very populated, so it’s recommended to arrive early to get a table.

If you prefer clubs, Mogul is open on Fridays and Saturdays. après-ski starts at 4 p.m. If you want to experience the biggest club in Sölden, Katapult is the one suggested on Sölden’s ski resort website.
