Get to know Megève Ski Resort

Developed in the 1910s, Megève is full of history. The ski area is immense, offering 400 kilometres of slopes that are adaptable for all ski levels. The good thing about skiing at Megève is the panoramic view of Mont-Blanc. But it’s not all about the ski. From museums, horse-drawn carriage rides in the village, to traditional bars and restaurants, where you can try the traditional food and all other different cuisines.

Skiing and activities in Megève

Visiting Megève in the winter season is magical. Many activities are available for you and your family as well. Some activities include snowshoe hikes, sleigh dogs, and activities on ice like climbing or curling.

Megève is also rich in apres-ski activities. The Cocoon Club is a 25-year-old club and a must-go if you visit the Megève ski resort. If you’re travelling with your little ones, they have a ski school made for 3 to 4 years old where the professional instructors help your kids discover the ski world and the snow.

Megève skiing: an overview

Megève has a total of 235 slopes. The downhill slopes are adapted to beginners, intermediates, and more advanced skiers. There are 43 green slopes for the beginners, 63 blue slopes categorised as “moderate difficulty” for the intermediate skiers, and lastly, 84 red slopes plus 33 black slopes for the ones who really know what they’re doing. Throughout the ski area, 112 ski lifts, including gondolas and chairlifts, are accessible.

Non-skiing activities in Megève

Megève ski resort has designated activities for non-skiers. We will leave you with three non-ski activities at Megève. The first one is snowbiking, which is practiced when the ski area closes. Instructors are there to help you with some tips so you can have a fun and safe experience.

The second suggestion is tobogganing; there are marked runs with three metres of distance. The great thing about it is that you can do night runs as well, where you get to experience a magical moment.

For the third option, we have dog sledding. Before you begin the voyage, the professionals will introduce you to the dogs, which number around ten, and you will be given instructions on how to control them during the journey.
