The Ecole du Ski Français (ESF) and the Ecole de Ski Internationale (ESI). Lessons include skiing, snowboarding, and many other ski activities. Val Cenis skiing: an overview

There is 125 kilometres of skiing available to explore. The open season to ski is from December to April, with snow guaranteed. In addition, there is artificial snow being produced. To help you reach the slopes, there are modern lifts available throughout the runs, which are adaptable for all ski levels.

The good thing about skiing in Val Cenis, bordering with Italy, is that you get mesmerising views of the National Park, Lake Mont Cenis, and many other must-sees.

Non-skiing activities in Val Cenis

The Alpine ski area of Val Cenis isn’t just for skiers. Many other snow-based activities are available. One of the options is icefalls, where you have to climb with ice axes, an adventure you will remember. Toboggan is also accessible from the Val Cenis Le Haut gondola lift. You will need gloves and a helmet, and the sleds are the metal ones. Runs are a total of 900 meters. Lastly, another option is snowshoeing, where you get to explore the snowy-covered forests by foot.

Things to do in Val Cenis village

If you’re planning on going to the Val Cenis, the Mont-Cenis natural lake, it’s a must-see. The panoramic views you will be presented with are memorable. Another place to visit is the Alpine du Col du Mont Cenis garden; free group tours are available as well as guided tours. It’s open from May to November. If you want to do something indoors and discover the culture of the mountain people, the Musée d’Archéologie is the place to go. Services like guided tours are available. Entrance is lower than 5 euros. English and French are spoken!

Family-friendly and kids’ fun in Val Cenis

The majority of families visiting Val Cenis with the little ones normally visit the tobogganing areas. There is a designated run for children, “Val Cenis Turbo.” Minors under 5 years old can’t participate. Children age 5 must be accompanied by an adult, and the 8-year-olds can already go on their own. The tobogganing environments are the mountains or the ski area. Rates for participating are 30 euros for four runs, and It’s accessible from December to April.

If you want to give some ski lessons, ski schools are available with professional and caring instructors. At the end of the personalised service, participants will have a medal offered. Beginners, kids, and advanced skiers are all welcome.

After the whole experience of skiing through the alpine ski area of Val Cenis, there’s just one thing missing—food and drinks. The Bar The River Side is a sports bar/pizzeria located in the mountains, 300 metres maximum from the pistes. Only French speaking, so train your language skills!

Another option near the Termignon slopes, is the Bar l’Outa, which offers a warm and friendly environment. There’s parking and outdoor seating available. The good thing about this restaurant is they speak a variety of languages, from English to Portuguese and Spanish.

Many restaurants are available near the resort. The Le Relais du Col de Mont is a rustic cafe bar/restaurant open the whole year. It includes a terrace, and the restaurant serves Savoyard specialties and snacks. The prices are between 10 and 20 euros per person.

L’Ours Blanc is another restaurant option. It’s open all week, and they have catering, outdoor seating, and it’s available to host private events. This one is a bit more expensive (20–30 euros per person).
