Laax skiing: an overview

Blue, red, and black slopes are available for the skiers. Blue are for the beginners or learners, the red for the intermediate skiers, and the black ones for the expert skiers that know what they’re doing. In addition, 214 kilometres of snow are available, a couple of snow parks, and 28 ski lifts to make the change of ski areas easier. Most ski areas are located between 2,000 and 3,000 metres of altitude, making it exciting for skiers of any level.

Non-skiing activities in Laax

Not a skier? Not to worry. Among the non-ski activities are winter hiking, skating, curling, and the most popular one—snowshoeing. Another popular non-ski activity still on the slopes is sledding. There are three sledding runs where you can do it during the day as well as during the night. At night, the experience in the snow is different because the runs are lit. The runs are around 1.5 kilometres long, and it’s very family-friendly.

At Laax village, some popular experiences are visiting museums to discover the culture. Some museums are the Bergbahninfo Laax, a local history museum where you get to learn more about the local heritage. The Yellow House is another one with a very interesting story behind it, and the Laax local museum, where you get to discover the customs of the village.

If you want to use your time to be more active in the snow, Stomp It Camps is the place to go if you want to learn or improve your skills in the snow. It’s also very family-friendly.

Family-friendly and kids’ fun in Laax

The Freestyle Academy is the spot to go to keep the kids entertained for a couple of hours (and also to get them tired). There are skateboard lessons and many others to choose from. Sledding is very popular. Among families, you and your family can go all together in the middle of the ski area and enjoy the panoramic views while you go down the runs.
